Defence in Space is a two-day free International event tackling a diversity of topics from both the industry & the public sector. Topics include MilSat, Space ISR, Space Domain Awareness, Earth Observation, Geospatial, Multi-orbits, PNT, Satcom, Space Security & Cyber and Defence Strategies. This conference is free of charge and organised by and for the Space & Defence industry.
Jodie Howlett, Senior Systems Engineer at the UK Space Agency, is participating in a panel on “All eyes on the sky - how increased Grey Zone activities present new challenges to SDA monitoring, debris mitigation and associated policies” on 10 September.
Diana Luncă, the UK Space agency’s Unlocking Space for Dual Use Senior Project Lead, is delivering a keynote speech entitled “UK Space Agency Unlocking Space for Dual Use” on 10 September.

Ray Fielding, Head of Sustainability and ADR at the UK Space Agency, will be speaking at Space-Comm Expo Scotland. Fielding is participating in the Space Law Symposium sponsored by DLA Piper, in a session entitled "Tackling the hot topics that keep you up at night", and also in a panel entitled "Dual Horizons: Ensuring Sustainability in Orbit and on Earth". Paul Bate, head of the UK Space Agency, is also delivering a keynote at the event on "The UK’s Leadership in Space and Scotland’s Role".
Space-Comm Expo Scotland at SEC Glasgow is the new catalyst for one of the world’s leading space nations at the forefront of the UK’s global ambitions.
The Scottish space industry is thriving and one of the fastest growing in Europe. Glasgow designs and builds more small satellites than anywhere outside of California. Scotland is home to five spaceports aiming to be a strategic launchpad for the northern hemisphere with multiple launch vehicle operators. Scotland is famous for world class downstream data capabilities, technology for deep space missions and is home to over 150+ space companies with the sector underpinned by government, business, clusters and universities.
Space-Comm Expo Scotland is supported by the Scottish Government, UK Space Agency, UKspace, Scottish Enterprise, South of Scotland Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Space Scotland with plans to attract international delegations and visitors from across Europe and the global space community, alongside Primes, SMEs and Start-Ups.
Space-Comm Expo Scotland will follow the award-winning format of previous events with Scottish based companies to the fore alongside international exhibitors, product demonstrations, keynote speakers, multiple conference theatres, roundtables and 1-2-1 networking opportunities.
