The US Space Surveillance Network (SSN), launchd in the late 1950, utilises a global network of sensors to track space debris, satellites, and ballistic missiles.
Space News reports on a recent contract for $25.2 million, awarded by Space Force to defence tech startup Anduril, to improve the SSN software. The upgrades will make use of artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse and process data from the network of sensors.
